ACTA Informatique (ACTAInfo)
ACTA Informatique (ACTAInfo, http://www.acta-informatique.fr) is a subsidiary of different French Agricultural R&D organisations controlled by the farmers' unions and the French state, subsidiary devoted to Information and Communication Technologies, and their uses to process experimental results and field surveys, to develop data bases, CD-ROMs, web sites and decision support systems, etc. From 1997 to 2010, ACTA Informatique has been the editor of two weekly electronic newsletters: one in French with 28000 subscribers and one in English with more than 4000 subscribers, newsletters devoted to ICT for agriculture and rural areas. In VOA3R project, ACTA Informatique acts as content provider, hosting and maintaining a repository of EFITA conferences papers, and has contributed to dissemination of information about VOA3R activities and results through its newsletters.
Sylvie Masselin-Silvin is an agronomist specializing in animal sciences graduated of the Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon. After 3 years working as a research officer in the Statistical methods department of a French livestock technical institute, she joined in 1990 the computer department of ACTA, the association of French Agricultural R&D Institutes. The department became a subsidiary of ACTA in 1993. Her activities in ACTA Informatique articulate around three main topics:
- Participation in various European and French R&D projects in the field of ICT in agriculture
- Support and user training
- Statistical studies
